Terms of use

Version 3, [cutover date] 2026. These terms cover fieldtoboard.com, prep.fieldtoboard.com (FE/PE Exam Prep) and guide.fieldtoboard.com (PTEC Study Guide), provided by Field to Board LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (“we”). By using them you agree to these terms. SIMs, at sims.fieldtoboard.com, is governed by its own terms at sims.fieldtoboard.com/legal/terms.html.

1. Training and examination review only

Everything here is for learning and for review before an examination. It is not engineering or operating advice. Do not use it to design, operate, modify, troubleshoot or make decisions about any real plant, equipment or process; for real work follow your site’s approved procedures, the applicable codes and the people in charge.

2. No promise of results

We work to make the material correct and useful, but using it does not mean you will pass any examination, and nothing here is a credential of any kind. Practice scores and readiness marks are training indicators; they do not predict results on any examination and are not a measure of anyone’s competence.

3. NCEES and the examinations

FE, PE, Fundamentals of Engineering and Principles and Practice of Engineering are names of NCEES, used only to say which examinations the Exam Prep covers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by NCEES or any licensing board. Nothing here is copied from NCEES examinations or materials. For the examination itself, its rules, its reference handbook and the official practice examinations, go to NCEES.

4. Accounts and sign-in

One account serves every site of ours. You sign in with a one-time code or link sent to your e-mail address, or with a Google account; there are no passwords. Keep your sign-in address to yourself: whatever is done signed in as you is taken as done by you. A seat bought for you by an organization is one named person and that person’s record; it may not be shared or passed on.

5. Our material

The subjects, problems, tests, pictures and software belong to Field to Board LLC. You, or the organization that holds your seat, get access through the account or seat; you may use the material for your own study or training. Please do not copy, republish, sell or share it, post questions and answers elsewhere, or let anyone else use your access, without our written permission.

6. Mistakes

If you find an error, flag the question or write to us; we correct the material as fast as we can. The material is provided “as is”, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for loss arising from its use.

7. Prices, payment and refunds

What is free and what is paid is shown on each product before you pay, with the price, what it includes and how long access lasts. A one-time plan is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of buying it; a monthly plan runs to the end of the month paid and stops. Annual plans are two months free against the monthly price. Payments are taken by Stripe; manage a subscription from your account. An organization buying seats agrees a quote and is invoiced; its seats run for the term on the quote.

8. Changes

We may change these terms. A change is published here as a new version with its date, and applies from that date; it does not reach a dispute that arose earlier.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before either of us goes to court over them, we write to the other and allow thirty days to put things right. [Lawyer’s wording replaces this clause when given.]
