Privacy
Version 8, [cutover date] 2026. Field to Board LLC (“we”).
In short: you can study without an account, and then your record stays in your own browser. If you sign in (one account for the Study Guide, the Exam Prep and SIMs), we keep your e-mail address and your study record so it follows you to any browser or device. There is no advertising, and we never sell what we hold or give it to anyone to use for their own purposes.
This site, fieldtoboard.com
- No advertising. The “Sign in” link takes you to the one sign-in page, here at fieldtoboard.com/signin.html, which serves every site of ours.
- One cookie, only when you sign in. Signed in, your browser keeps one cookie (in a few numbered parts if it is long) for fieldtoboard.com and its sites, so you are signed in on all of them at once: it holds your sign-in and nothing else. Signing out on any of them removes it. Not signed in, there is no cookie.
- Your browser keeps one note from this page, that you have seen the opening animation, so it is shown at once next time. It holds nothing about you.
- The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles each request (your address and browser details) to deliver the page and protect it from attack. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Visit counts. Every page on fieldtoboard.com and its sub-sites carries Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits, the page you came from, the country, the kind of device and how fast the page loaded. It uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and keeps nothing that identifies you; we see totals only.
FE/PE Exam Prep, prep.fieldtoboard.com
- Not signed in: your record stays in your browser. Your answers, practice test results, refresher dates and examination date are kept in your browser’s storage for that address. We cannot see them. Clearing the site’s data deletes them, and another browser or device starts empty.
- Signed in: see “Your account” below. Your browser keeps a working copy, and the record is also kept on our server.
- Flags you send. When you flag a question, what you write, which question it was and the date come to us so we can correct the material; if you are signed in, the flag is kept with your account so we can answer you. Please do not put personal details in a flag.
- Results you copy to us. If you paste your results into an e-mail to us, we use them only to help you study and keep them only as long as that takes.
PTEC Study Guide, guide.fieldtoboard.com
- The same as the Exam Prep above: not signed in, your record stays in your browser for that address; signed in, it is kept with your account; flags come to us the same way.
- The Study Guide sends no refresher notifications.
SIMs, sims.fieldtoboard.com
- Signed in only for anything beyond the free sampler: the sampler keeps its results in your browser until you sign in.
- What we keep. Your record of runs and their results (which scenario, how it went, your scores against the benchmark), your refresher schedule and settings, and your seat.
- If an employer or school gave you your seat, you are a member of their organization on SIMs. What that organization can see of your record is set by its own rule and is shown to you, in plain words, before you join and again whenever the rule changes; nothing more is shown until you agree. The record shows who ran what and how it went; it is not a measure of anyone’s competence and is not meant for decisions about hiring, pay or discipline.
- Invitations. If you are invited to an organization, the address the invitation was sent to is kept with it until it is accepted or it runs out.
Your account
- What we keep. Your e-mail address; your study record for each product you use; the flags you send; when you were last active; and, for each refresher notification, the day it was sent and whether its link was followed.
- No password. You sign in with a one-time code (or link) sent to your e-mail, or, once it is offered, with your Google account, in which case Google tells us your e-mail address and name and nothing else. We never ask for or store a password.
- Why. To sign you in, to keep your record the same on every browser and device, to answer your flags, and to help you study.
- Refresher notifications (Exam Prep and SIMs). If you are signed in and have a study schedule, we e-mail you once a day, in the morning (US time), with that day’s refreshers, from notifications@fieldtoboard.com. Turn them off on the progress page, or with the unsubscribe link your mail program shows. We note whether a notification’s link was followed, to see whether the refreshers help; nothing else in the e-mail is tracked. If you turn on notifications on a device, we keep that browser’s notification address so we can send the day’s refreshers there; it is removed when you turn them off or delete your account.
- Who sees it. You see your own record. Field to Board sees each signed-in person’s e-mail address, last activity, results and flags, to support learners and fix the material. An organization on SIMs sees what its rule allows, as above. Nobody else: we do not sell it, rent it or give it to employers, schools or advertisers.
- Who keeps it for us. Supabase holds the accounts and records, in the United States. Resend delivers our e-mail. Notifications, if you turn them on, are delivered by your browser maker’s push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla). Stripe takes payments; your card details are held by Stripe, never by us. Cloudflare serves the pages. Each handles the data only to provide that service.
- How long, and deleting it. We keep your account and study record while you use them. If you haven’t signed in for two years, we e-mail you a month before we delete them; signing in during that month keeps them. If you don’t, we delete your account, your study record and your flags. You can delete your account at any time: signed in at fieldtoboard.com, choose Delete my account at the bottom of the page. Or write to support@fieldtoboard.com from the address you sign in with. The record of what you bought and of the terms you accepted is kept as long as tax, accounting and contract law require. A seat an organization bought is its record for as long as its contract says.
If you write to us, we keep your message and address to answer you. We do not add you to any list unless you ask.
What we never do
- We do not sell, rent or trade anything about you.
- We do not use your answers or results for anything but your own study, your organization’s view where you have agreed to it, and improving the material.
Who may use it
The site is meant for adults preparing for engineering examinations or plant work, and for students in a process technology program of study.
Questions or deletion
Write to support@fieldtoboard.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, if anything. You can delete your account at any time: signed in at fieldtoboard.com, choose Delete my account at the bottom of the page. Or write to that address from the address you sign in with.
